Our first Mustang!

This year, Peace Ranch will join the national effort to safely and humanely place wild Mustangs by adopting rescued Mustangs and giving them training and a safe home. Our first Bureau of Land Management Mustang had arrived!

Introducing “Wiingash” which means Sweetgrass. Kenny Pheasant, who is Anishinaabe and belongs to the Wiikwemkoong First Nation, gave our native horse its Native American name, stating “it is one our four sacred medicines of our medicine wheel teachings. It represents the northern direction, and it is the white color on our medicine wheel.” It symbolizes healing and peace.

The Cats:

Lucky (2010-2024) followed Farmer Paul home from the deep woods over the ridge many years ago when he was still a kitten. He was a good “uncle” to Grace and Hope who came as kittens in 2020 from a skinny momma with too many mouths to feed. Together, they are the first line of protection from rodents and other critters who might find our barn a comfortable place to live, and they are the first point of connection for many children and adults. Lucky came to Peace to find Hope and Grace.

Sponsorship provides for all their needs including feed, veterinary care, and regular flea/wormer.

Sponsorship for each cat: $500
